They started in a vase. That was apparently the extent of the plan.

They Refused to Behave is part of my Outgrowing series, where flowers, vessels, color and drawing are allowed to push beyond behaving like a traditional still life. Cornflowers stretch across a deep blue ground while the bird vase anchors all that movement below.
